In today’s society we have so many food choices and it is sometimes difficult to decide what the best choice for optimal nutrition is. We are fortunate in the United States to have nutrition labels as a mandatory item on all our food choices. The question is how to gather the most useful information when reading them?
At this workshop, we’ll learn how to read labels to improve our nutritional intake and provide us with the optimal caloric intake. We will examine how a nutrition label is structured and how we can sometimes miss important information because of the way we have been accustomed to reading labels.
This workshop will take out the mystery of reading labels and answer questions about food choices that we make on a daily basis. We will look at all types of labels and develop personal goals regarding things we have been consuming that we may want to change.
