Toivo offers classes, workshops, support groups, special events, retreats, community wellness programs and trainings. All of our activities are facilitated by expertly trained staff who use their passion and skills to create an engaging and trauma-informed experience.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga allows and encourages individuals of all physical abilities to enjoy the full benefits of yoga. This class features traditional yoga postures and techniques while utilizing the chair for support. Chair yoga is gentle, relaxing and strengthening.

Meditative Coloring

Please join us for meditative coloring for relaxation, stress reduction, meditation, and spiritual connection, centering, healing and coming into your true deep self. We will supply coloring pages & supplies or you may bring your own.

Coloring is an activity that we tend to associate with children. As we grow older, we put aside our crayons and colored pencils in favor of more respectable writing utensils like pens and highlighters. However, it turns out coloring can be beneficial for adults — namely for its de-stressing power. The practice generates wellness, quietness and also stimulates brain areas related to motor skills, the senses and creativity.

Qigong and Tea

Join us as we build a mindful community around the practice of qigong and drinking tea. Every Saturday at Toivo we will have qigong from 9:30 am – 10:30 am and a tea ceremony and conversation from 10:30 – 11:30 am.

Qigong is a 2,000-year-old practice from China which helps your body to heal itself naturally. Qigong can provide relief from anxiety, depression, and chronic fatigue. It can also improve balance and endurance. The practice involves gentle movement, breathing techniques, and focused intention.

According to Chinese medicine, tea clears the mind and circulates the energy of the body. Scientists have found that tea strengthens the immune system.

Yoga

Join us for yoga with Sara Balkun. In these heartfelt and explorative classes, you will be encouraged to meet yourself right where you are and practice yoga for longevity. You will be guided to mindfully and compassionately cultivate connection, strength and flexibility in the mind, body and heart. This class is a blend of breath work, flowing movement, restoration and meditation based on the unique needs of the class. People of all levels are invited.
