Toivo offers classes, workshops, support groups, special events, retreats, offsite wellness programs and trainings. All of our activities are facilitated by expertly trained staff who use their passion and skills to create an engaging and trauma-informed experience.

Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga was developed over twenty years ago by Dr. Kataria. A combination of laughter and yogic breathing reduces stress, strengthens the immune system and improves mood. Laughter Yoga classes include playful activities and guided exercises that utilize fake laughter as a gateway to real, joyful laughter. These classes incorporate breaks for deep breathing techniques and end with a laughter meditation to leave individuals with a sense of calm and tranquility. Yoga mats and props are not required, just bring an open mind!

Sound Healing

For centuries, sound healing has been used across traditions as ways of balancing, healing, and bringing wholeness to individuals and groups. Through the use of intention, breathwork, crystal bowls, crystals, shamanic drum, rattle, ocean drum, and bells, you will be guided into a meditative state where you can center yourself, reach a felt sense of relaxation, and connect with your heart. Wear comfy clothes, bring your favorite blanket and/or pillow. Yoga mats, bolsters, blankets, and eye pillows will be provided.

Essential Oil Workshops

Toivo’s Essential Oil Workshops are offered throughout the year where attendees learn how to use oils to enhance their overall well-being. The workshops highlight all the wonderful uses that essential oils have to decrease stress and increase vitality.  Many workshops include a DIY project such as deodorant, insect repellant or lotion where all natural products are paired with essential oils to create an item that participants can take home.

Louise Hay “You Can Heal Your Life”® Workshop

The two-day workshop is filled with activities that invite you to explore some areas in your life that may be holding you back from being the person you want to be in life. We will use the material that was created by Louise Hay and her team to help us start to heal our lives together. Louise Hay, the best-selling author of “You Can Heal Your Life,” is known as one of the founders of the self-help movement. Her books have been sold in 33 different countries and have been translated into 25 languages. Through Louise’s healing techniques and positive philosophy, millions have learned how to create more of what they want in their lives, including more wellness in their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Drum and Dance Circle

Drumming can be a metaphor for any challenge or opportunity in life. It has the power to energize, relax, motivate, educate, heal, unite and inspire. Community drumming is an extraordinary dialogue that connects us with our world, our neighbors and ourselves. Come to celebrate life, honor the season or simply create some positive vibes in this high-energy, experiential play shop. Participants will be instructed on the basics of how (and what) to drum in a group and allowed plenty of room to improvise within this facilitated drum circle. Almost anything goes. Drummers & dancers of all ages, genders, and abilities are always welcome. No prior experience is necessary or expected. Bring your favorite instrument or share one of ours. Some extra drums and percussion will be available.

Mindful Outdoor Experience

A mindful outdoor experience is an intentional guided journey through nature. The evolution of technology in our lives and the fast paced society we live in leaves little room or motivation to spend time outdoors. Mindfully and leisurely walking outside can greatly decrease our stress levels. By actively engaging all of our senses, we will begin to explore the innate relationship with nature we all have within us. Participants should dress comfortably and appropriately based on the weather conditions. No special gear is required, other that what you need to enjoy your time outdoors. Your guides mindfully choose trails and paths that are safe and accessible to all. Mindful Outdoor Experiences travel around the state to visit each region.

Y12SR Freedom Yoga

Freedom Yoga welcomes anyone dealing with personal addictive behaviors or the addictive behaviors of others. This monthly series combines the holistic approach of, Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR). Y12SR integrates practical tools of the 12-step program and the somatics of yoga. Participants will learn asana, breath work, meditation, mantra/mudras and yogic tools for nervous system disregulation. In society we have placed a judgment on addiction, which negatively places values on others. Through the use of mindfulness, a shift can occur. I invite you to reconnect with self and body. Lastly, I would like to present a platform for freedom from future suffering. Group discussion and sharing is welcomed before or after yoga series.

Authentic Relating Games

Authentic Relating Games are a collection of extensively tested experiences that give players a hands-on taste of both the joy and skills of interpersonal connection. A traditional Games Night takes participants through a series of interactions designed to highlight body awareness, deepen connection, boost empathy, strengthen community, and be fun! Players walk away with experiences they can use right away to deepen human connections.

Tap Into Your Power to Heal Yourself

Do you want to let go of feelings of sadness, fear, anger, or shame? Do you want freedom from physical pain? Do you want to eliminate cravings and heal from phobias? Do you want to get rid of blocks holding you back from living your best life? If your answer is “yes” to any of these questions, we invite you to join us for this interactive workshop to learn the basics of tapping or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Tapping is a very simple – yet powerful – tool you can use on your own to heal yourself. Tapping is an emotional version of acupuncture. Unlike acupuncture, tapping does not involve the use of needles. Instead, you stimulate certain points on the body by tapping on them with your fingertips.

Writing Group

“Were most of your stars out? Were you busy writing your heart out?” – J. D. Salinger

Is writing something you are passionate about? Do you enjoy poetry? Are you a person who enjoys writing things out? If so, this workshop is for you! This class is facilitated using the Amherst Writers and Artists method which creates a safe space for people to write on a topic choice from two given prompts and an opportunity to share their writing. Paper and pens are provided, but feel free to bring your own journal to write in.

Workshops for Well-Being

Join Corey Hudson for his twelve-part workshop series rooted in the concepts of creating and maintaining emotional well-being. His monthly, interactive two-hour sessions explore themes such as recovering from the human experience, self-care and the art of loving yourself, forgiveness and the power of compassion, courage and harnessing vulnerability and many more. Through these experiences guests will have opportunities to share, learn, connect and will hopefully leave with a deeper sense of understanding, courage and empowerment around their capacity to continue on their journey towards healing and growth.
